Privacy Policy

FaceLens AI ("we," "our," "the app") analyzes photos of your face to offer cosmetic skin-care insight and a virtual makeup try-on ("Studio"). This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you can control or delete it at any time.

Information We Collect

Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password, when you create an account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive only what Apple shares (name and a private relay email, if you choose that option).
Scan photos: the facial photos you capture or upload for skin analysis.
Scan results: your skin score, estimated skin age, detected concerns, and tone data generated from each analysis, kept in History so you can track changes over time.
Studio sessions: if you save a virtual makeup try-on, we store the resulting image and which shades you applied, so it appears in your History.
Wishlist: products you save from your scan results or Studio sessions, so you don't have to re-search for them later.
Biometric sign-in: if you enable Face ID, your device's Secure Enclave handles the match locally — we never receive or store any biometric data ourselves. Only an authentication token is kept, in your device's Keychain.

Virtual Try-On & Facial Data (Studio)

Studio uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to locate facial landmarks (eyes, lips, brows, cheeks) so makeup can be rendered onto your photo or live camera preview. This facial-landmark detection happens entirely on your device.

We do not transmit, upload, or store facial geometry, landmark coordinates, or any biometric template — on our servers or anyone else's. The only thing ever saved is the final rendered image, if you choose to save a Studio session, exactly like any other photo in your account.

How We Use Your Information

To generate your skin analysis and cosmetic product recommendations.
To render makeup shades onto your photo or live camera preview in Studio.
To maintain your scan and Studio history so you can see progress over time.
To keep your wishlist in sync across sessions.
To authenticate you and secure your account.

We do not sell your personal information or photos to third parties, and we do not use your photos for advertising or for training AI models beyond generating your own results.

Third-Party Processing

To generate a skin analysis, your photo is sent to a third-party AI vision provider (Google Gemini, or NVIDIA's hosted models as a fallback) for processing. These providers process the image only to return your analysis and are not authorized by us to use your photo for any other purpose. Our backend infrastructure (accounts, database, and photo storage) is provided by Supabase. Product links in Studio and your scan results may point to third-party retailer or brand websites, which have their own privacy practices.

Data Storage & Security

Scan photos and Studio sessions are stored in a private storage bucket that only your account can access — they are not public or guessable. Access to your data is enforced at the database level (Row Level Security), so no other user's account can read your scans, photos, wishlist, or profile.

Your Rights

You can permanently delete your account, scan history, Studio sessions, wishlist, and photos at any time from Settings → Purge Scan Data & Delete Account inside the app. This is irreversible and takes effect immediately — no need to contact us first.

Children's Privacy

FaceLens AI is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information, including photos, from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account or submitted photos without parental consent, contact us below and we will delete the account.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
